Magazines

I think magazines can be a great part of any reading diet. I grew up in a house full of pop culture magazines, for my mom, and car magazines, for my dad. But all three of us also read a ton of books and I still enjoy both reading both formats. My husband, who can read much more quickly than myself, mostly reads magazines and newspapers (lots of them). He enjoys being caught up on what's happening in the world and following his interests through magazines.

Currently in the library, we have a random selection of magazine titles that have been donated for students to read. You can find them on your right hand side as you enter the library in a tiered display stand. You are free to borrow these without checking them out. You can return them when finished or, if you really, really want it, you may keep it.

But I'd also like to have a wider selection of magazines that live in our library. Starting in January, we will have a collection of magazines that will be available for checkout and will be eventually returned to the library. The most current issue of each title will be for "in library use only", while back issues (six months worth) will be kept in an organizer and available for student check out. This will keep the newest magazines available for the most readers.

I will be placing an order soon, so please let me know if you have any particular requests for magazines the Meany library should have!
