Like many places in a middle school, the library seems to attract a fair number of lost items. Pencils, pens, papers, binders, even composition books and backpacks. I have made a special location for all things lost. It is directly on the right hand side as you walk into the library in the beige wood podium stand.
On the first shelf are books that have been left in the library that do not belong to the collection. This includes classroom library books. Once a week I will have a T.A. return those books that have the teacher's name visibly displayed.
On the second shelf are any items that are not books. Below the shelves you will find anything too large to fit on the second shelf. I plan to donate, recycle, or toss anything left here at the end of each semester.
Be sure to check this area occasionally. You never know what you might find!
